Saving the world, one ring at a time!

Hi, my name is Jax and I like to say that I am a born crafter. People often boggle at the sheer number of interests and hobbies that I keep myself entertained with. I sew, I quilt, I cross-stitch, I paint fantasy miniatures, I garden, I hike, I do leather-working...the list goes on and on. For many years now my greatest love has been chainmail.
I picked up my first two pairs of pliers and learned to mail in late 2005 or early 2006. As I progressed from my very first item - a simple bag to hold my gaming dice - I quickly had friends, coworkers and family (and friends of friends, etc.) asking me to make things for them. From that humble beginning, I branched out and did a few craft fairs and farmers markets. Thinking that I might try my hand selling online, I turned to Ebay - which I found to be a horrible place to sell anything handmade. There is just too much cheap junk made in China and countries like it being hocked here. Then along came Etsy. I had a little shop there for over three years but with all of the changes over there, I became disenchanted with how they chose to run their platform. Also, there are an awful lot of people selling maille (of varying quality...some of it quite poor) on Etsy, so I am choosing to focus on this page.
Making jewelry and accessories is not my full time job, it is something that I do because I enjoy it. Making maille is fun and it allows me to channel my creativity. Every item for sale in my shop is handmade, one link at a time in Chesapeake, VA, USA. I strive to make quality items and give each piece my utmost care. I even hand wind and cut many of the rings I use in my creations in my own craft studio. Here at the Wolf Bard's Den I am hoping that you find something to love and treasure owning as much as I love and treasure making it. If you have any questions, comments or wish to commission custom pieces, feel free to use the contact form to drop me a line.
